It’s no secret that Ludwig van Beethoven had an appreciation for good beer. In celebration of our nine-year Beethoven concert cycle, we’ve partnered with Petskull to craft a limited-release brew each spring. Our inaugural beer is a Kölsch-style ale—a tribute to a classic European tradition rooted not far from Beethoven’s home—making it easy to imagine the composer himself raising a glass in approval.

We look forward to welcoming you beginning at 5:00 pm.

About Andrew Dunlap

Hailing from Manitowoc, violinist Andrew Dunlap champions the exploration of all music and sound worlds. He engages with classical music through radio, television and live performances across the world as a soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician. Andrew also enjoys experimenting with other genres of music and composes his own works in the classical genre and beyond.

As a soloist, Andrew has performed with both the Madison Symphony and Manitowoc Symphony Orchestras. In 2014, Andrew premiered Emmy-Award winning composer Garth Neustadter’s Double Violin Concerto. He has also performed multiple recitals on Wisconsin Public Radio. As a chamber musician, Andrew was invited to join Madeline Island Chamber Music’s 2018-19 Quartet in Residence program, where he performed the works of Hadyn and Britten across the Twin Cities. He has played in orchestras in the United States and Europe, recently appearing as concertmaster of the Collegium Festival Orchestra in Pommersfelden, Germany.

Andrew has collaborated with touring artists such as country singer Clay Walker, singer-songwriter Meredith Andrews and the heavy metal band ‘Disturbed.’ In 2015, Andrew toured with the Andrew Alden Ensemble, a new music group premiering and recording modern soundtracks for classic silent films.

Andrew is currently working toward his MM in Violin Performance at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, studying with Paul Kantor. He received his BM in Violin Performance from University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music in 2017, studying with Renee Jolles and Charles Castleman.

Earlier violin teachers include MSO concertmaster Carrie Kulas and Lawrence University Professor Samantha George.
