Scholarships

The Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra promotes music education in Manitowoc County by awarding up to $500 summer music camp scholarships to middle and high school students who play a band or orchestral instrument. Students may use the scholarship to attend a summer music camp of their choice. Students eligible for the scholarship are string, woodwind, brass and percussion students currently in grades 6-11. Vocalists and pianists are not eligible. Student must either live in or attend school in Manitowoc County. Home schooled students are eligible to participate.

A panel of judges chosen by the MSO Education Committee will review the applications. Applications will be judged based on completeness, thoughtfulness, need, and musical ability. Scholarships may be applied to tuition of the summer music camp. Scholarship are for a maximum of $500.00 and can only be used for camp tuition. If a student is unable to attend the camp for any reason, scholarship funds must be returned to the MSO. Travel and other personal expenses will not be covered by scholarships.
