Victoria Daniel

vdanielA freelance percussionist, Victoria Daniel currently performs with the Wisconsin Philharmonic, Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, Oshkosh Symphony, Kenosha Symphony, and Orchestra Iowa. In addition, recent performances include the Des Moines Metro Opera, Green Lake Music Festival and Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra. Percussion study with the (late) Latin Percussionist Jerry Steinholtz prepared her for membership in “Salsa Manzana,” with which she also performs.

Summer theatre productions have included Music by the Lake (Williams Bay, WI) and Pine Mountain Music Festival (Houghton, MI). Career highlights include Russell Peck’s “Glory and the Grandeur” concerto for percussion trio and orchestra with the Fox Valley Symphony in 2003, and performing with Orchestra Iowa in the world premiere of “American Gothic” by composer Michael Daugherty in 2013.

Ms. Daniel received a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Music Degree in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University. She taught in the Abilene and Clyde, TX school districts, and has been an adjunct-percussion instructor at Bucknell University, Penn State, and Lawrence University.
