Our Sound: Celebrating 70 Years! April 9, 2022

Our Sound: Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra Celebrates 70 Years!

Sat., April 9, 2022

7:30pm | Capitol Civic Centre

Celebrating 70 years of marvelous sound and passionate people! Led by conductor Dylan Chmura-Moore, MSO performs music from the inaugural concert (1952), the reopening of the CCC (1987), and music to inspire another 70 years!

Via Beethoven, the Prometheus myth offers us the fire to imagine the future. Music from Gigi reminds us to go toward love. Music by Massenet encourages us to honor our community. Music by Glière makes us dance. Music by Brahms honors our past and inspires us to create anew.

This concert program has been changed. Cellist ANDREW BRIGGS, originally scheduled to perform, cannot be with us due to uncertainties in the international travel situation.

Jim Miller

Before each MSO performance, Jim Miller offers a free lecture on the concert’s music and composers.

Jim’s talks are always a good time, informative for sure, and sometimes hilariously filled with gossip and hearsay.

Don’t miss it! 6:45pm before the concert at the CCC. No additional charge.
